Giftedness

Assessments for giftedness are important in helping parents and schools provide an optimal cognitive and emotional environment for gifted kids to thrive. Often the intellectual, emotional and social development of gifted children in uneven and children themselves, and the adults around them, are confused by gaps in their functioning.

Furthermore gifted children and teens often show particular cognitive and emotional characteristics such as intensity, sensitivity, questioning, idealism, and interest in problem solving, which if not understood well, can create problems.

Assessment and therapy with gifted children can help the family support giftedness at home and help schools provide optimal learning for gifted kids.
