School Readiness

Each child is unique, with an individual developmental pattern influenced by both genetic and environmental conditions. Developmental milestones in physical, cognitive, language, social and emotional development are attained at different rates and times for each child. School readiness involves a range of cognitive, concentration, social, emotional and physical abilities, and not all children are ready for school at the same age. If you are uncertain as to whether your child is ready for school, a school readiness assessment, which takes into account all these abilities and more, can be helpful. Children who commence school without developing vital readiness skills have been identified as 'at risk' for their future academic and social success.
