Living in Out of Home Care - Foster Care, Permanent Care & Adoption

For a range of reasons some children are unable to live with their birth families and are living in Out of Home Care. Out of Home Care aims to provide these children with a home ensuring their safety and healthy development. However the journey from birth home to foster care, permanent care or adoption is a complex one for the children and adults involved. The many challenges involved include the often difficult behaviors of the children themselves, their experience of loyalty confusion, the relationship between the child and the biological parents, and between the carers and the biological parents, the difficulties of multiple placement etc Therapy and support for the children and adults involved can be vital in developing and maintaining a successful out of home living experience for all.
